Most drinking alcohol addiction can upset the lives of family or friends who constantly deal with the drinker. But, it is important to realize that while your life may be upset by the actions of the person holding the bottle, the choice to quit drinking is not yours to make. The person holding the bottle must use their own mind to ask the arm to put the bottle down.
Many are guilty of lecturing to their favorite alcoholic like they were a wayward child. Demanding that changes be made instantly with threats of what the nondrinker will do if this wayward child does not listen to them. This is the worst tactic in the world to use to help a loved one to quit drinking. Lectures are for children, and your drinker is an adult.
Instead of explaining to the drinker what you will do, explain to the drinker what they can do. With money saved, there can be skydiving lessons, or cooking school, or something very special that will make the drinker happy to work towards by themselves without any threats involved. Drinkers are like all other people, they respond to happy thoughts.
